Rackham is a third-year PhD student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, where he teaches radio and television reporting, and serves as advisor to KASC, ASU's student-run radio station. His research is focused on how traditional news organizations are adapting to the innovations that have transformed journalism in the past two decades.
Rackham is a veteran journalist with more than 25 years experience in a wide variety of roles in television, radio and wire service journalism. His career began in radio, and he would eventually work as an anchor and desk supervisor at the Associated Press Radio network in Washington DC. Rackham later worked as a television news assignment editor at KCNC in Denver, and as a News Director in Colorado Springs and Albuquerque. He has received numerous awards, including two national Edward R. Murrow awards for Overall Excellence and Breaking News while News Director of KKTV in Colorado Springs.
